Just like every true believer, I believe that I have been given a mandate to go out into the world and spread the Good News of Christ. Of course, this I can do with or without music. However, having been blessed with musical gifts, it is inevitable that music would become my most convenient and effective medium of fulfilling this mandate.
My message is no different to what may have been heard before. However I believe that I am unique in my own right. My aim is to express that curiousness through my music, hence the name “NCR” (New Curious Rhythms). The ability to merge my unique qualities with excellence, integrity, passion, diligence, love, and God’s blessing, I can be sure to stand out (1 Samuel 16: 18). This, in a nutshell, sums up my life and my ministry, and it is on these principles that NCR was founded and currently functions.
Music, is no doubt, a form of Art and Entertainment and so should contain those elements. Nevertheless Christian music, as I believe, is more than just art and entertainment; rather it is a genre of music that should convey the message of truth and life (John 6:63, 8:32, 14:6). My mission is to place utmost priority on conveying this message accurately, without compromise, but rather, doing it in the most palatable and alluring way possible, whilst avoiding offence to those I am reaching out to.
I have not been given a divine instruction for a particular target audience, be it age, skin color, race, religion etc. I am inspired to write songs mostly based on my personal experiences and I create music whichever way it comes to me. I leave it to my audience to decide how they classify my music, as they deem fit. I hope with His grace that I can break all barriers and limitations and reach out with relevance to all people from all works of life (1 Corinthians 9:19-23). I want to be able to create music that is pure, yet relevant and applicable for all aspects of human endeavors. I want my songs to be relevant for the following: general church worship, personal inspiration and encouragement, non-church parties and celebrations, love songs, wedding, movies, TV and radio industry and many more.
